We believe every girl can reach their full potential with proper knowledge and guidance. We provide life skills and mentoring services to girls ages eight to twenty-five in Florida. Our tailored program addresses the unique needs and challenges underserved youth face to promote empowerment through inclusivity. Increasing accessibility for all youth, especially in areas with limited resources, helps reduce vulnerability to social issues such as teen pregnancy, crime, and juvenile delinquency, thus aligning with our vision.
We offer weekly educational sessions and workshops that cover a wide range of topics for personal wellness and professional development, along with mentorship opportunities year-round, even during summer vacation. Our personal wellness and professional development sessions are structured in group settings for engagement, collaboration, and connection to build community and foster friendships.
We partner with local organizations in the community, such as Regions Bank, City Bank, Mary Kay, Chick-fil-A Riverview, and more, to give our girls the most accurate information and build connections with well-experienced professionals. We also engage with community leaders, educators, and parents to create a supportive network for our youth.
We take a holistic approach to providing our youth with foundational life skills for their physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, financial, and social well-being.
We motivate our youth to begin thinking about their lives after high school through aspirational development and providing them with creative outlets to explore their interests.
At GIRLS OF THE WORLD INC., we believe in the motto “It takes a village.” We have a strong mentorship program with dedicated role models supporting our youth, offering advice, and sharing their experiences.
Effective communication is essential for any individual to succeed. Our girls learn to communicate verbally and non-verbally to manage their emotions, set goals, establish boundaries, build trust, resolve conflicts, understand others, and overcome diversities.
Mental health determines how one thinks, feels, and acts. We educate our girls on good mental health to build positive self-esteem and self-worth, maintain healthy boundaries and relationships, and overcome adversity. Our girls learn different methods of self-care to manage stress, promote health, and increase their energy.
We teach our girls the importance of setting financial goals to prepare them for the future. We give our girls different resources and tools to manage their budgets, grow their assets, plan for emergencies, and become overall financially responsible.
Puberty is an important milestone for every child as they transition into adolescence. We provide our girls with age-appropriate information about the physical and emotional changes in their bodies, the right resources to maintain healthy hygiene, and the proper knowledge to build their confidence.
Sexual educational can be a difficult topic for anyone, no matter the age. However, we want to make sure that our girls receive the most accurate information to make healthy decisions throughout their lives. We begin the foundation of sexual education by discussing abstinence. We then cover the topics of respect & boundaries, consent, reproduction, contraception, and STD prevention.
We help our girls identify their strengths and weaknesses through self-reflection to set professional goals, build confidence, and become avid advocators. Our girls also complete a series of workshops and community engagement to learn how to manage their time, work in team settings, and motivate their peers.
Through our job readiness program, our girls learn how to create a high-quality resume, complete applications, and undergo interviews effectively through mock scenarios. We also assist our girls in finding suitable after-school jobs once they become legally eligible to enter the workforce.
We train our girls to gain the skills and knowledge needed for success in various fields while exploring their career interests through different workshops and networking events.
Throughout the year, our girls visit different universities, colleges, and technical schools across Florida and the United States to discover which institutions will suit their needs once they complete high school.
Since we have girls enrolled in our program at different ages, there are limitless chances for them to learn from one another. Our girls can ask questions, give advice, and hold each other accountable as they navigate through the different stages in their lives. We also provide our girls with dedicated time for coaching opportunities with our leadership team to address their concerns, ask for advice, and receive the support and guidance they need to succeed in live,
